Chef Tochal Food Festival

I couldn't help but notice the emails in my inbox for the upcoming bi-annual event, San Diego Restaurant Week, which will take place later this month across the world in my hometown. Given that I'm miles and miles away from home, I don't think I'll be making it to Restaurant Week this year. However, much to my chagrin, I was quite enthused and surprised when I discovered a similar sort of event that is to take place right here in Israel.

Starting today, January 15, 2012 until January 27, 2012 there will be a special value high-quality meal for just 79 shekels being offered at multiple restaurants in various big cities throughout Israel. So, whether you live in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Eilat, Herzliya, Caesarea, Ashdod, Ra'anana or other cities in Israel, chances are that some restaurants near you will be taking part in this culinary event.

The special deal of 79 NIS will buy you a first course, a main course and a desert. If you're interested in the conversion and too lazy to do the math, that's approximately $20 US, a pretty great deal.

Bigger cities such as Tel Aviv have about 20 participating restaurants whereas smaller cities such as Caesarea have just two restaurants being featured; however, most cities are being represented. So, if there's a special place you have wanted to try, this might just be the time to test it out.

For further details on city specific information and participating restaurants, please see the Food Festival's website at:
