Happy Tu Bishvat

Today at sunset marks the beginning of Tu Bishvat, the Jewish holiday celebrating the new year of the trees. Think Arbor Day in the US, kind of the same idea.

The holiday is celebrated with a special Tu Bishvat seder where we enjoy fruits and nuts from various trees along with wine and desserts. It is a day of celebration where we give thanks for the nature around us.

It is also common to plant a tree on Tu Bishvat and you can do so online at the website of the Jewish National Fund, click here

But that's not all. If you visit the Jewish National Fund's website today and elect to pay $18 to plant a tree, you will be entered into a giveaway to receive two free round-trip tickets to Israel on El AL Airlines, which is arguably the very best of Israeli air travel.

So what are you still doing here? Head on over to JNF's website to enter the contest and go out and enjoy the Tu Bishvat festivities tonight and all day tomorrow. Happy Tu Bishvat!
